Originally a chopper built by the team at Sucker Punch Sally’s in 2005, it was rebuilt by Boyd Motor Company in its shop in Loveland, Colorado, under the guidance of its owner. Another custom job that has left us openmouthed...

Cuando Ken le propuso realizar unos cuantos cambios, su repetida respuesta era siempre: “Sure we can do that!”

Originally a beautiful chopper with an unquestionable npedigree, this narrow racer fell into thehands of Ryan Boyd, a true professional who totally loves his work, and takes a personal interest in all his challenges. Whenever Ken suggested any changes, Ryan’s response was always: “Sure, we can do that!” The first job was to completely strip the bike down, in order to attack the rear part of the chassis. They installed a drag bike axle block, giving the chassis greater resistance and a sportier look. The gas tank was replaced by the one you can see in the photos giving it, in my opinion, an intrinsically British touch. The only parts that weren’t touched were the oil tank, the engine, whose cylinder head trims were changed for new ones with a special finish; and the front of the chassis. Everything else was designed and built exclusively for the narrow racer: risers, triple tree, headlight, foot pegs, controls, etc... One year on, and at the SEMA Show where it was exhibited on the Du- Pont display, you can see the result: a real work of art. With Ryan’s indisputable talent and Ken’s ideas, not forgetting the contribution of every one else who worked on the project, this turned out to be an indomitable team. As we’ve come to expect, the magnificent leather seat, which follows the line of the chassis to perfection, is the work of Paul Cox. Kirk Taylor and his team at Custom Design Studios were given the task of doing the red paint job job on the bodywork and chassis, which was set off by a water effect. Ken would like to give his thanks to Baker, Gardner-Wescott, Sucker Punch Sally’s, DuPont, Led Sled, Paul Cox, Gard Hollinger y LA County Choprods, Insane Chains, Fuller Hotrods, and the Boyd Motor Company for all their help on this project. During our interview, Ken Conte told us that he is a lover of motors in all shapes and forms, and that his favourite car is the ’68 Mustang fastback. There’s no doubt that Ryan Boyd, who also builds hot rods, was the best man for the job of making Ken’s dream a reality. We fell in love with this bike as soon as we saw it, and wanted to share it with fans of cool motors with feeling via Custom Garage. This bug is contagious – as we can see with our increasing numbers of readers!
